Womsikuk “Kuk” James (baritone/bass), 17, is from Lexington, Massachusetts. He is a junior at the Waldorf High School of Kuk headshot Mar2016Massachusetts Bay in Belmont, MA and studies voice with Clara Sandler at the New England Conservatory of Music. In addition to performing with the Handel and Haydn Society, Kuk also sings in the choir of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord, MA and in the Newton-based Youth Pro Musica, both under the musical direction of Robert Barney. He plays jazz trumpet with an ensemble at Rivers School Conservatory.
In his free time, Kuk enjoys reading about politics and foreign affairs and is a dedicated movie buff. He was fortunate enough to attend the first White House Native Tribal Youth Gathering in the summer of 2015, where he met First Lady Michelle Obama.
