Johanna Geremia (Soprano), 17, is from Shrewsbury Massachusetts. She is a Junior at Shrewsbury High School and studies voice with Dr. Jennifer Sgroe at New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Johanna is a recipient of the High School Soloist scholarship with the Handel and Haydn Society. There she sings in the H&H Young Women’s Choir and Young Women’s Chamber Choir. She has attended Solo Vocal programs at both Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey and at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio. Johanna got a rigorous vocal training at All Saints Choirs in Worcester, the oldest of its kind in the country,where she is Head Chorister and works with vocal coach Elizabeth Gondek. She has sung in the National Cathedral and the Capitol in D.C., as well as St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland. In addition Johanna sings with her school’s Honors Women’s Choir, plays piano and viola, having played in the school orchestra since fifth grade.
Johanna is a dual citizen of Germany and the US and loves to spend time in Europe, which is not often enough. She enjoys spending time with her friends, cuddling with her bunny rabbit, is obsessed with Shakespeare and addicted to Netflix. To add some variety to her life, she is teaching herself the guitar. Johanna was not even a day old when her mom knew she had the lungs of a singer.
