Veronica Kenney is completing her thirtieth year as principal oboist of the Concord Orchestra, where she has also served on the Board of Directors. She has played with a number of other Boston area orchestras, including the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra, the Longwood Symphony, and others. She is currently co-principal oboist of the Falmouth Chamber Orchestra. In addition to orchestral playing, Veronica enjoys playing chamber music, and she participates in an ongoing woodwind quintet.
Veronica grew up in a very musical family and studied with a number of outstanding teachers, all of whom were students of the legendary Marcel Tabuteau at the Curtis Institute of Music. She received an A.B. from Oberlin College and later an M.Ed. from Boston College. She worked in the field of education as a Special Educator, a School Counselor, and as a School Administrator. In retirement she enjoys having more time to practice and perform, as well as learn to play the piano and garden.
